City Enters Phase 4 Water Restrictions

GoDaddyStudioPage-0 (66)

The City of Liberty Hill is entering Phase 4 Water Restrictions immediately. All outdoor watering is prohibited during BCRUA repairs, which are estimated to take up to 21 days.

The Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA) water treatment facility provides treated water to the cities of Leander, Cedar Park and Round Rock. During a water inspection on August 8th, contractors discovered a leak in an intake pipe in Lake Travis. Although the leak is not wasting water because it’s flowing back into the lake, it is significant enough that the treatment facility must shut down for repairs.

During this time, neighboring cities will be sharing water from the Sandy Creek treatment facility, which provides the majority of water for the City of Liberty Hill. Liberty Hill’s supply will be significantly reduced during the repair; however, we will be receiving an additional emergency supply to supplement. If all residents comply with restrictions, indoor water use will not be affected.
