Water Restrictions Update | 9/15/21

At the September 13, 2021 City Council meeting, Council voted to adopt a new Drought Contingency Plan that aligns more closely with Leander's. Due to this new ordinance and a recent increase in water supply from Leander, water restrictions for Liberty Hill water customers will relax slightly. Liberty Hill will remain in Phase 2, but with these parameters:

Landscape Irrigation

Residential Water Customers

May use an automatic irrigation system or hose-end sprinkler one day per week on designated day between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.

  • Friday – Street address ends in 1, 5, or 9
  • Wednesday – Street address ends in 2, 4, 6, or 8
  • Sunday – Street address ends in 0, 3, or 7

Commercial, Multi-Family, and Homeowners Association Water Customers

May use an automatic irrigation system or hose-end sprinkler one day per week on designated day between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.

  • Tuesday – Street address ends in 1, 5, or 9
  • Saturday – Street address ends in 2, 4, 6, or 8
  • Thursday – Street address ends in 0, 3, or 7

No limits apply for watering by means of a hand-held hose, soaker hose, or drip irrigation system.

 

Other nonessential water uses are prohibited except:

  • Use of water from hydrants or flush valves for construction purposes.
  • The addition of water to a pool or splash pad where necessary to maintain the water purification system in service or to maintain structural integrity of the pool.
  • The washing of vehicles or boats at a commercial car wash facility, or as part of a charity or fundraising event held on a commercial property during the property’s designated watering day as defined in subsection.
  • During the testing of new irrigation system installation or existing irrigation system repair.

Enforcement

Violating these restrictions shall be punished by a fine up to $2000 each day. Fines can be issued by a City Code Enforcement Officer of Police Officer.

Wetzel Park will remain closed for the season, and will re-open in 2022.
