Streets

The Streets Division of the Public Works Department is charged with maintaining and improving the City’s street infrastructure. Street maintenance includes annual seal coat, re-oiling, and asphalt overlay operations. In addition, streets are maintained free of potholes. Capital Improvement Projects are scheduled and evaluated each budget year.

The Project Management Division of the Public Works Department drives the Capital Improvement project scoping process, directs project core teams across all phases of project development, and is responsible for achievement of project goals within budget and on schedule.

Current Road Projects

Roundabout @ CR 279 & Main Street Intersection

The Roundabout Project is being constructed to decrease the speed of vehicles, increase pedestrian safety and improve the aesthetics as you enter the City of Liberty Hill.

Signalization and Turn Lanes at FM 1869 & Main Street

Signalization and Turn Lanes at FM 1869 will help ease traffic at the traffic signal.

2024 Sidewalk/Shared Use Path (CDBG 2021)

The Shared Use Path which will run from Kristi Lane to Stadium Drive along Main Street will increase pedestrian safety.

2024 Street Maintenance Projects

The 2024 Street Maintenance Projects prolongs the life of the roadways. This project will include repairing street failures and resurfacing Main Street from Charli Circle to Forest Street.  It will also improve the proper flow for drainage.

2024 Bailey Lane Realignment

Realignment of Bailey Lane will improve traffic safety entering onto SH 29. It will also reduce traffic congestion in front of the school.

 2024 Hwy. 29/Stonewall Realignment

 The Stonewall Realignment will improve traffic safety entering on to or crossing SH 29.

Liberty Hill Bypass (Wilco)

The Project will construct a new two-lane roadway from FM 1869 to CR 279/Bagdad Road. The Project will also add turn lanes to FM 1869 and CR 279 to the Liberty Hill Bypass. The objective of the project is to reduce traffic congestion coming through the city.
