Employee Benefits

The City of Liberty Hill provides a comprehensive, cost effective, health and welfare package that includes the following: medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability, voluntary vision, flexible spending options, employee assistance program, retirement and deferred compensation programs. The City also provides vacation, sick leave, holidays, funeral leave, jury leave, military leave and injury leave. Medical, dental and vision benefits are effective the first of the month following date of hire.

Health Insurance

The city offers employees medical insurance through the Texas Municipal League (TML).  You have the option to choose one of the following plans: Medical Classic 500 or Medical Consumer. These plans are at no-cost to the employee only.

Dental Insurance

The City offers employees dental insurance through the Texas Municipal League (TML).  This plan is at no-cost for the employee only.

Life Insurance

The city offers all full-time employees voluntary life insurance and AD/D options for employees and their families through TML.  This plan is at no-cost for the employee only.

Vision

The City offers all full-time employees vision coverage though TML. The TML plan offers benefits for eye exams, frames and lenses or contact lenses.  This plan is at no-cost for the employee only.

Flexible Spending Options

Flexible Spending Accounts – Health Care and Dependent Care : Allows the employee to pay for certain un-reimbursed health expenses and dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis.  The account is fully funded by the employee.  Health Care Flexible Spending account is limited use when combined with the TML health coverage.

Employee Assistance Program

EAP services are provided through TML. Program benefits include 24-Hour Call Centers, Short-Term counseling, up to 8 sessions; convenient counseling locations, and Work life Solutions, a program designed to assist you and your family members with legal and financial assistance, health and wellness programs and personal and professional development.

Texas Municipal Retirement System – TMRS

The City of Liberty Hill offers a retirement plan through the Texas Municipal Retirement System. The City of Liberty Hill’s TMRS plan requires a contribution (made by means of bi-weekly payroll deductions) equal to seven percent (7%) of the salary of each regular full-time City employee. The City matches employee contributions on a 2 to 1 basis after the employee is vested at the time of retirement. Vesting occurs after 5 years of employment.

Deferred Compensation/ROTH

In addition, 457 and ROTH plans are available. The purpose of these plans is to allow an employee to set aside a portion of his/her salary and receive its value at retirement. Employee eligibility is immediate. Employees may select their plan through ICMA-RC.
