The LHEDC is working with public and private development partners to retain, expand and relocate business along with fostering entrepreneurial development and destination tourism. Its mission is to create an environment that fosters job creation and capital investment.
In 2015, the Liberty Hill Economic Development Corporation (LHEDC) Board of Directors established and funded the Façade & Sign Matching Grant Program for the City of Liberty Hill in support of Downtown Revitalization.
In 2016, the LHEDC Board of Directors expanded the program to include non-residential property owners on Ranch Road 1869 from State Highway 29 to all of Loop 332 and from State Highway 29 to Barton Street behind Parker's Grocery Store in support of revitalization on a case-by-case basis. In 2019, the LHEDC Board of Directors further expanded the program to include existing businesses and non-residential properties within the described area of Liberty Hill and its extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). This program is designed to encourage physical improvements and commercial revitalization along our corridors while encouraging commitment to improve the overall aesthetics of Liberty Hill. Generally, it encompasses street facing facades of income-producing non-residential businesses along Highway 29 (LHHS to Ronald Reagan), 1869 (29 to 183), 183 from (1869 South to Mourning Dove); other properties will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
This initiative is known as the LHEDC Façade & Sign Matching Grant Program and is designed to encourage physical improvements and revitalization of Downtown Liberty Hill. The Grant Program encourages building and overall aesthetic improvements to downtown within the area referenced above.
Grant funds through this program range from $500 to $5,000. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to, the following:
(1) façade renovation
(2) awning installation
(3) exterior painting
(4) outdoor lighting
(6) parking lot improvement
